NLD win 43 of 44 seats

Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD) has won 43 of the 44 seats it contested on Sunday according to official results.

The NLD took 37 seats in the 440 seat lower house of parliament, four seats in the upper house and two seats in regional chambers.

The governing Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) won one seat and the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party won one seat.
