No election but new ministers says Chad’s President


President Idriss Déby has announced a Cabinet reshuffle, making changes to key posts including Finance, Justice and Foreign Affairs. At the same press conference the president announced that parliamentary elections, which should have been held in 2016, were being delayed indefinitely because of lack of money.

The new ministers announced by the president are as follows:

Hissein Brahim Taha; Minister of Foreign Affairs

Ahmat Mahamat Hassan; Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals

Christine Georges Diguibaye; Minister of Finance

Ngueto Yambaye; Minister of Economy and Development Planning

Mahamat Saleh Haroun; Minister of Artisanal and Cultural Tourism Development
