Ortega wins

Daniel Ortega of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLD) has won the presidential election with 85.8% of the vote counted, according to the Supreme Electoral Council.

Ortega took 62.68% of the vote against his closest rival, Fabio Gadea of the Liberal Independent Party (PLI), who took 30.97%.

The Organisation of American States (OAS) and the European Union (EU) have both expressed concern over a number of irregularities.
