Parliament to grow to 132 seats

The next parliament in Laos will grow from 115 seats to 132 seats. A general election for the 7th National Assembly will take place on 30th April 2011.

Laos became a communist state in 1975 and there will be only one party, the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, contesting the election plus a few approved independents. There are likely to be a total of 190 candidates for the 132 seats.
