PDP neck and neck with opposition

Published

The party which has ruled Nigeria since 1999, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) appears to be neck and neck with opposition parties for seats in the House of Representatives.

The latest figures we have been able to obtain suggest that the PDP have picked up 80 seats so far, with the opposition taking 91 of the 360 member parliament. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has made gains in the South West, taking 33 seats so far, whilst the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has done well in the North, taking 30 seats.

The final results will not be known until the end of April because 48 federal seats and 15 senate seats will not ballot until 26th April due to delays in getting fresh ballot papers printed.
