Poroshenko confirmed as new President

The Central Election Commission for Ukraine has announced that with 95.16% of the vote counted the result looks a clear cut win for Petro Poroshenko.

The latest figures released give Petro Poroshenko 54.46% of the vote, Yulia Tymoshenko 12.88%, Oleh Lyashko 8.38%, Anatoliy Hrytsenko 5.46% and Serhiy Tihipko 5.28%. All other candidates received less than 5% of the vote. Poroshenko polled most votes in all regions of Ukraine according to CEC Chairman Mykhailo Okhendovsky.
