Post debate poll gives Harper the lead

A poll conducted by Ipsos Reid after the two hour debate on Tuesday (12th April 2011) Prime Minister Stephen Harper was seen as having won the debate.

42% of those polled felt Harper had come out best. Jack Layton of the New Democrats came second with 25% and Michael Ignatieff of the Liberals took just 23%. Gilles Duceppe of Bloc Québécois took 2%, although he is expected to do better in the French language debate that took place last night (13th April 2011).
