President to announce election in March

A spokesperson for the Polish President, Bronislaw Komorowski, has said that he will announce the date of the general election in early March.

The ruling Civic Platform would like the election to take place on 23rd October 2011, near the end of the country’s six month presidency of the EU starting on 1st July. Opposition parties would like the election to be in the Spring.
