Presidential second round today

The second round of the Lithuanian Presidential election will take place today along with the European Parliament elections in the country.

The original twelve candidates have been brought down to two, the incumbent President Dalia Grybauskaitė, standing as an Independent, who won 46.61% of the vote in the first round on 11th May. Her opponent in the second round will be Zigmantas Balčytis of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania who took 13.84% of the vote in the first round.

There are 2,553,335 eligible voters and they will be voting at 2,003 polling stations between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time.
