Results of General Election completed for 113 constituencies

Around 18.4 million people, about 89% of the eligible voters turned out to vote in the legislative elections on Sunday. Preliminary results suggest that 113 MPs were elected with 22 constituencies going to a second round runoff in January.

Of those elected, 47 MPs were from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP), 21 from the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (NDPU), 28 from the – People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (NDPU) and 17 MPs from the Adolat Social-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.

The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) said that the elections “were competently administered but lacked genuine electoral competition and debate” in a report published on 21st December.
