Ruling party wins by election

Published

Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate Mohamad Azahar Ibrahim comfortably won the Tenang by-election with 6,699 votes.  He beat Normala Sudirman of the Islamic Party (PAS) who received 2,992.

This is a traditional stronghold for the ruling party and is a useful barometer for what is expected to be a snap general election later in the year.
