Second round of voting on 15th December

The voters of Mali will have to go to a second round of voting on 15th December after an inconclusive first round last Sunday.

In the first round just 38.4% of voters bothered to vote and just 16 of the 147 parliamentary seats were concluded.

Reuters reports that the president’s Rally for Mali (RPM) won eight seats. The party of defeated presidential hopeful, Soumaila Cissé, the Union for Republic and Democracy (URD) won six seats and the Alliance for Democracy in Mali (Adema) won two seats.
