Seven killed in post election violence

Published

Seven people have been killed after clashes with soldiers over the results of the 23rd January presidential and general election. The clashes were between members of the Convention of Patriots for Justice and Freedom (CPJF) and the CAR army.

Meanwhile three members of the Independent Electoral Commission have been arrested, accused of vote counting irregularities.

The constitutional court will rule next week as to whether there is any case to be answered over alleged misconduct in the poll.
