United Russia drop 7%

Published

United Russia the ruling party of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has taken around 70% of all seats in the regional elections which took place on Sunday 13th March in 74 of the 83 regions. This figure is a drop of 7% from their regional election results in October 2010. Along with a low turnout this would suggest that enthusiasm for the United Russia is waning.

The Communist Party of Russia (KPRF) came second with 20% and Patriots of Russia, a relatively new party took 8%.
