Papua New Guinea has completed its mammoth general election voting process which started on 23rd June and was extended from its original deadline of 6th July.

So far four constituencies have declared their results with disputed Prime Minister Peter O’Neill of the People’s National Congress Party (PNC) being the first to retain his seat. His party is believed to be ahead in 17 seats so far with many more of the 111 seats still to be declared.
