200 Ba’ath Party members resign

News sources are saying that more than 200 Ba’ath Party members have resigned in protest at the death and wounding of thousands of civilians at the hands of the security forces. There are indications that there are splits in the military, with some soldiers refusing to fire on civilians.

The City of Daraa is said to be under siege with food water and electricity being denied the inhabitants and with tanks, snipers and snatch squads roaming the streets.

Some sources are saying that more than 600 people have died in the protests so far.
