Army clears Tahrir Square

Published

In what appears to be a hardening of its approach to protesters, the army cleared Tahrir Square of all protesters yesterday (Tuesday 12th April 2011). Later the square was opened to traffic. At least one person has died in recent clashes with the army who have used violence to remove protesters.

In Sharm el Sheikh in southern Sinai former President Mubarak suffered what appears to have been a heart attack whilst being questioned by public prosecutors. His two sons have also been arrested.
