Assembly votes down PM nominee

Haiti’s Chamber of Deputies has rejected President Michel Martelly’s candidate for prime minister, Daniel Rouzier.

42 deputies voted against with 19 voting for and 3 abstentions. The vote has effectively stalled the programme of redevelopment the president was hoping to put in place.
