Budget passed

The Iranian parliament yesterday passed the budget for the year 1391 (2012). The total budget expenditure is 9% down on the previous year at $462 billion.

The parliament passed the measure by 123 in favour, 46 against and 14 abstentions. The budget still has to be approved by the Guardian Council before it becomes law.
