Cabinet names emerging slowly
The newspaper La Republica is reporting that some names are being leaked as being likely postings in the first Cabinet of president elect Ollanta Humala.
The newspaper reports that Kurt Burneo is the likely candidate for the post of Minister of Economy and Finance. Ambassador Harold Forsyth is the name associated with the Foreign Ministry whilst the Health Ministry is likely to be headed by Álvaro Vidal and Culture by Sinesio López according to the newspaper.
Others named are Ricardo Giesecke for the Ministry of Environment and the important Ministry of Energy and Mines is likely to go to Carlos Herrera Descalzi.
Some papers are suggesting that Peru Possible, the party of Alejandro Toledo who gave Humala his backing after being knocked out in the first round of the presidential elections, may be backing away from a coalition arrangement. Although Daniel Mora of Peru Possible states that dialogue with Gana Peru has not broken down.
If the two parties fail to reach agreement then that will make the parliamentary position of the new president, when he is sworn in on 28th July, that much more difficult.
