CFK popularity plunges

Published

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has seen her popularity rating plummet by a half in the last year according to a Management and Fit survey highlighted in the Buenos Aires Herald.

The popularity rating for the president has fallen 8.1% between July and August to 30%, around half of what it was when she was re-elected a year ago. The president’s message that the economic woes of the country are due to outside influences is not believed by voters, with 44.5% saying that they believe it is the president’s policies that are to blame for the stagnation. Just 8% said that it was the fault of problems in other countries.

Areas of most concern to those interviewed included the increasing street crime, inflation and unemployment.
