Coalition agree terms

The three member governing coalition of the Civic Democrats, Public Affairs and TOP09, have agreed to continue in government together to push through their economic reforms package.

Prime Minister Petr Necas has confirmed that Radek John (Public Affairs), previously Interior Minister will become the new Deputy Prime Minister responsible for coordinating the fight against corruption.

The new Interior Minister will be Jan Kubice, a former director of the Police Department for Combating Organised Crime.

The new Public Transport Minister will be Radek Smerda.  He will replace Vit Barta (Public Affairs) who resigned last week over corruption allegations.

TOP09 have agreed to drop their demands that Minister of Education, Youth & Sport, Josef DobeŇ° be sacked.

The opposition are still planning to hold a vote of no confidence against the government, and in turn the government has said that it will seek a vote of confidence in its reform package in the summer.
