Delay to poll proposed

Tunisia’s electoral commission has said that it wishes to delay their first democratic elections since the fall of President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali from the proposed date of 24th July to 16th October.

The reasons given are largely technical, including the registration of the seven million voters as well as organisational and logistical problems.
