Diplomats expelled across the world

Published

A growing number of countries have expelled Syrian diplomats following the massacre of women and children in Houla province last weekend.

The massacre which saw at least 32 children murdered has outraged world opinion with even Iran’s president expressing disgust.

Meanwhile the list of countries to have expelled Syrian diplomats includes Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Spain and Switzerland. More countries are expected to announce a similar decision today.

The move leaves Syria’s president, Bashar Al-Assad, increasingly isolated and with the United Nations now talking about increased sanctions. Only Russia and China currently stand in the way of the UN Security Council taking strong action against Syria.
