Economy Minister lists Ministry priorities

Minister of Economy, Bozhidar Loukarski, outlined the key priorities for his Ministry at a press conference held yesterday.

He outlined the key points of the Ministry’s programme as follows:

• Improving the business environment and cutting the administrative burden

• Electronic organisation of public procurements

• Higher levels of transparency

• Making business start-up and development easier

• Encouraging exports through greater access to the markets of third countries for small and medium enterprises

• Optimisation and activation of work with Bulgaria’s trade representations especially in Asia, the Middle East and North America

• The maximum and transparent absorption of the European funds

• Encourage investments in sectors with high added value through amendments to the Investment Promotion Act

• Encourage private investments in innovative companies

• Improve the connection and ties between education, labour markets and business

• Launch the privatisation of International Fair Plovdiv this year and review other state companies that could be privatised as majority packages whilst putting minority packages through the stock exchange
