Federal Budget on 22 March 2011

Published

Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has said that he will present his federal budget on 22nd March 2011. The Conservative Government does not have a majority in the House of commons and therefore if the budget were to fall it will probably trigger a general election which has been mooted for some time.

Opinion polls suggest that the Canadian public do not want a general election. The same polls would suggest that the opposition Liberal Party of Canada would not win.
