Goodluck Jonathan starts shaping his Cabinet
Following the inauguration of the new President on Sunday, he has started to appoint his new government which is expected to take around two weeks.
The first appointments made by President Jonathan are Secretary to the Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim and his national security advisor, General Andrew Azazi.
The previous Cabinet was dissolved on Sunday and civil servants will run the ministries until such time as new appointments are made. Key appointments to watch for will include Finance, Economic Planning, Commerce and Works & Transport. Energy, which the President has named as a key area for development, currently comes under Petroleum & Power, but we may see this separated into a new Ministry.
