The American conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation has published its Index of Economic Freedom 2015 (IEF). The Index of Economic Freedom is jointly published with the Wall Street Journal and list countries under six graduated lists.

The top list with five countries named, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and Switzerland are described as ‘Free’. The second category, ‘Mostly Free’ has 30 countries named and the third category, ‘Moderately Free’ has 55 countries. Moving into murkier waters, there are 42 countries categorised as ‘Mostly Unfree’ and 26 countries are described as ‘Repressed’. Eight countries are ‘Not Ranked’.
