Interior Minister suspended

Minister of the Interior, Emmanuel Ihenacho has been suspended as a Minister and member of the Federal Executive Council by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The reason given for the suspension was described as an ‘official lapse’. The minister is reported as having backed non PDP candidates in his home state of Imo during the recent general election. The Minister of Labour, Emeku Wogu will oversee the Interior Ministry in the meantime.
