Leaders in talks
The two leader of Sudan, President Omar al-Bashir, and South Sudanese leader, Salva Kiir have been holding talks over the Abyei region.
Both sides are edging towards a deal whereby Ethiopian troops will keep the peace along the disputed Abyei frontier. However, they are still some way towards agreeing the administration of the region. Today will be their third day of talks.
The talks are being facilitated by ex South African president Thabo Mbeki. The south will secede from the North on 9th July.
