Maoists join government

After a month of negotiations the Communist Party of Nepal has agreed to join the government although they will not get the coveted Home Affairs Ministry.

Four ministers were sworn in by Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal. They are:

• Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Information;
• Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Minister for Physical Planning and Works;
• Barsha Man Pun, as Minister for Peace and Reconstruction
• Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma, Minister for Tourism.

The Communist Party of Nepal is the largest party in the 210 seat Nepalese Constituent Assembly with 96 members.
