Military uprising fails

Published

The attempt by a group of officers to force a change in prime minister failed last night as the government took back control and released the armed forces commander.

Nevertheless, the uncertainty over the conflict between two competing prime ministers has caused Standard and Poor to revise its outlook for the country as negative.

Parliament resumes on 14th February with elections slated for mid 2012.
