Moodys downgrades

Published

The credit ratings agency Moody’s has downgraded Cyprus’ credit rating to Ba3 from Ba1, junk status.

The agency cites the likelihood of Greece leaving the Eurozone after the election this Sunday, increased fears of Cyprus needing a bailout and the need to recapitalise its banks and hence increase debt burdens as the reasons for the move.
