More pro-democracy protests yesterday

Published

Pro-democracy protests were held across Bahrain yesterday with Reuters reporting that 60 rallies took place across 40 locations including the capital Manama.

The Bahrain News Agency held no reports on the protests whilst the Gulf Daily News talks of a security success. Non Bahraini newspapers tell a different story of clashes between protesters and the police across the nation.

Protests calling for greater democracy in the Shiite majority Gulf nation which is ruled by a Sunni royal family have been ongoing since 2011 and show no signs of abating.
