Nepalese minister resigns

Chandra Dev Joshi, Minister of Land Reform and Management, as resigned from his post. Joshi has criticised the government, led by Prime Minister Baburm Bhattarai, saying that there had been a failure to take the initiative form a national consensus government.

Joshi is also chairman of CPN-United, one of the minor parties included in the UCPN-Maoist led government. His aide reported that the Prime Minister had asked him to stay on, but that he had declined.
