New Cabinet appointed

President Boni Yayi has appointed his new Cabinet, which according to press reports includes 21 new faces and two members of opposition parties.

A new portfolio of Prime Minister has been created and this has been filled by Yayi loyalist Pascal Koukpaki.

Former lawyer, Marie Elise Gbedo, who stood against Yayi in the presidential election has been made Justice Minister.

Also, Blaise A. Glele of the opposition ‘Build the Nation Union’ has been made Environment Minister.

We have not been able to obtain the full list of Ministers as yet but will publish them when the full list is released.
