New Cabinet reduced in size

Incoming prime minister, Pedro Passos Coelho, of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) has named Vitor Gaspar as the new finance minister. His first role will be to deal with the €78 billion EU/IMF bailout deal.

The Democratic and Social Centre – People´s Party (CDS-PP) coalition partner leader, Paulo Portas, will be the new foreign minister in a Cabinet which had been reduced from 16 to 11 ministers.
