New opposition group wants republic not monarchy

A new opposition group comprised of hard-line Shiite groups has said that it wants to bring the monarchy down and install a republic.

The group includes  Haaq (Justice) Movement, Al Wafa (Loyalty) Movement, and the London-Based Bahrain Freedom Movement.

They are opposed by Al Wefaq, Waad, and some communist and left wing groups whio are seeking a constitutional monarchy.

Meanwhile the street protests have grown in intensity in the capital Manama.
