No new posts for Kim Jong-un
The Supreme People’s Assembly, which met this week, did not feature the son of Kim Jong-il in new post that were handed out.
Analysts suggest that this is partly because Kim Jong-il has recovered from his earlier stroke and feels able to continue and partly because he wants to shield his son from some of the tough economic and diplomatic failures of recent times.
Kim Jong-un had been expected to be appointed to the National Defence Commission. Meanwhile, General Ri Myong-su, a key aide of Kim Jonh-il was named the new minister in charge of internal security.
