Pakistan cuts SAFTA tariff duties

Published

Pakistan is to cut its customs duties on intra-regional trade to between zero and five percent from January 2013 as part of the South Asia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA). Commodities on the sensitive list are not included.

The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar in a press conference. He admitted that non-tariff barriers were still too high and had to be addressed.
