Parliament approves Foreign Investment Bill

Published

Parliament has approved ten of the eleven amendments made by President Thein Sein in the Foreign Investment Bill according to the official news agency, New Light of Myanmar.

The bill has been passing between parliament and the president for much of this year with the president rejecting the bill on several occasions. With all but one clause agreed, it is likely that the final clause will be removed allowing the president to sign the bill into law.

The full content of the amendments are not yet known but the bill should be signed within the next few days.
