Parliament ratifies deal with Talisman

The House of Representatives has unanimously approved a ratification agreement with Canadian Company Talisman Energy Inc to carry out exploration of the offshore Block SL-4B-10.

The search for oil off the coast of Sierra Leone saw 34 companies bid for licences earlier this year. It is hoped that Sierra Leone will benefit from oil exploration in the same way that Ghana and of course Nigeria have in recent times.
