Haiti

PM appointed

Published

Haiti’s new president, Michel Martelly, has nominated businessman Daniel-Gerard Rouzier as his prime minister. The appointment will have to be ratified by both houses of parliament.

That could prove trickier than expected as Martelly has few members of his own party in either house and will have to rely on supporters of the ex-president to get the appointment passed.
