PM returns to toppled government

Whilst Lebanon’s Prime Minister was away this week on visits designed to prop up his government, two Ministers allied to Shiite militants resigned, bringing down the government.

 Although the Prime Minister returned following the resignations on Wednesday President Michel Suleiman will start fresh talks on Monday to create a new government.  Whilst in theory this could be led by the incumbent Prime Minister, members of the Hezbollah led March 8 alliance have made it clear that he is no longer acceptable.
