PM to stand down after election

Tunisia’s Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi has said that he will stand down after the general election.

He has indicated that he too was scared by the Ben Ali rule and since the ex President’s departure has pledged to make reforms and abolish anti-democratic laws. The new government has already started releasing some of the many hundreds of prisoners held for viewing Islamist websites.
