Police clear protesters

Published

Police have cleared protesters from an Egypt style square protest in the centre of Manama, the capital of Bahrain.

Tear gas and rubber bullets and at least two people are reported to have been killed.

The protesters from the largely Shi’ite sect were calling for a ‘day of rage’ against the ruling Sunni Muslim family.

The Shi’ite opposition Wefaq party has walked out of the parliament in protest.
