President gets loan deal from French

President Macky Sall on his first visit to Paris since being elected the new president of Senegal has walked away with a defence deal and a €130 million loan package.

The defence agreement will see the number of French troops in Senegal fall from some 1500 to around 300 whilst the loan package will come in two tranches, the first to be handed over by the end of June and amounting to €50 million.
