President urges investment in country

Published

President Armando Guebuza was in London yesterday with a 21 strong trade delegation encouraging investment in Mozambique.

The president talked about the stable political environment and the many opportunities for investment in the country. He reminded those present at a lunch hosted by the Commonwealth Business Council of the new mineral wealth in the country, especially new coal reserves and offshore gas finds that were waiting further investment both in exploration and downstream opportunities.

Discussions included opportunities in the agricultural sector with only 4% of some 26 million hectares of agricultural land being actively utilised. The president also touched on the growing tourism sector.

PoliticsAbroad will be publishing a report on investment opportunities in Mozambique shortly.
