Published

Mariano Rajoy has finally won a confidence vote in parliament.  After two elections and more than six months without a properly formed government, Rajoy won the confidence vote in parliament on Saturday by 170 for and 111 against with 68 abstentions. He and his centre-right Popular Party (PP) will now go on to form a minority government with the centrist Citizens (Ciudadanos) party.

Between them they have 169 seats in the 350 seat Congress of Deputies and will need to gain the support of minority parties to move forward any legislation.
