Roads investment gets go ahead

Costa Rica has signed an agreement with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration for a $340 million loan to build a 3.8 kilometre four lane highway as part of the Northern Ring Road.

The work will include the largest viaduct in the country as well as replacement of old roundabouts, a new flyover, bridges, tunnels and false tunnels.

Minister of Public Works and Transport said the work will be put out to tender in the second half of 2012 according to Le Nacion newspaper.
